Overview

SmartFix (“we,” “our”) is a WordPress plugin conflict detection service operated by SmartFixWP. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

The short version: We collect plugin metadata (names, versions, hook registrations) for conflict analysis. We do not collect personal data, post content, user credentials, or any data from your site's visitors.

Data we collect

When you use SmartFix, we collect the following data:

  • Site registration: Your site URL, admin email address, and site name. Used to create your SmartFix site record.
  • Plugin metadata: Plugin slugs, names, versions, hook/filter registrations (hook name, type, priority, callback name), enqueued script/style handles, registered post types, and REST API routes.
  • Environment info: WordPress version and PHP version.
  • Error log excerpt: The last 20 plugin-related entries from your PHP error log (if readable).
  • Scan results: Detected conflicts, severity scores, and analysis timestamps.

Data we do NOT collect

  • Post content, pages, or media
  • User accounts, passwords, or credentials
  • Visitor/customer data from your site
  • PHP source code (we extract metadata via regex, but do not transmit source files)
  • Payment information
  • Cookies or tracking data from your site's visitors

How we use your data

  • To analyze your plugins for conflicts and return results
  • To maintain the known conflict database (anonymized and aggregated)
  • To improve conflict detection accuracy
  • To provide scan history and trend tracking (Pro plan)

Data storage and security

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on our servers. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. We retain scan data for as long as your site is registered. You can request deletion of all your site data by contacting us at privacy@smartfixwp.com.

Third-party services

Ambiguous conflict cases may be sent to an AI model for analysis. The data sent consists only of plugin hook summaries (hook names, priorities, plugin slugs) — no personal information or source code.

Your rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of all data we hold about your site
  • Request deletion of your site data
  • Deactivate the plugin at any time to stop data collection
